  • Soil stability problems such as expansive soils, collapsible soils, and poorly compacted soils can present problems in new construction, excavation and existing projects of all types from residential, and commercial to mining and infrastructure.

Soil can present many challenges: underground slip zones, consolidation upon wetting, under or over compaction, or sometimes soil with normal parameters need to be strengthened to provide support for excavations or additional loads.

    Some typical applications might be:

    • Existing buildings parking lots, hardscapes or other infrastructure remediation that bear on unstable soil
      • Deep slip zones
      • Expansive soils
      • Undercompacted soils
      • Collapsible soil
      • Water infiltration
    • Excavation for new projects many times require soil stabilization in order to access areas for construction. Micro piles, helical piers and grouting all play an important roll in providing cost effective solutions.
    • Many times new projects with limited soil capacities can be strengthened to enable projects to be built where before these technologies would be not cost effective to pencil out.
    • Infrastructure remediation from underground vaults to PCCP and corregated steel tanks are made much more cost effective with many of these techiques.

Some of the sample of techniques used for this purpose might be pressure grouting with low and high slump mixes, light weight cement mixes utilizeing foam entrained cellular concrete, polyurethane resin grouts, and selfgrouting micropiles.
