Excavation Shoring

In new construction, especially in high density developments excavation for new construction needs to be shored or the soil stabilized in order to protect nearby buildings or other infrastructure.

Soil nail can be used to drill horizontally to a specified depth that reached beyond the active zone that can have the resistance to lateral movement. Because the soil nails percussively drill and grout simultaneously they can provide that horizontal stability required in these situations.

Once the nails are in place then wire mesh and rebar reinforcing can be installed and then shot crete applied over the reinforcing that is tied into the soil nails. The advantage that we can provide is that we have smaller equipment that can be mobilized into tight access areas, even inside buildings or houses.

Often times multi modalities are required in conjuction with soil nails such as FRP strengthening, soil grouting, underpinning and other similar techniques that we can provide in house as a seamless single source of accountability.

Many times during new construction excavation near existing structures is anticipated.  We can provide a variety of cost effective solutions to insure that the existing structure is not undermined.  Some of these techniques include underpinning the existing structure to remove compression of the soils, to tie back piers and soil nailing with wire mesh and gunnite if needed.  We can provide engineering backup if needed to insure the safety and the efficacy of our designs.
